2025 Local Author Fair
Overview
The Story Center’s 12th annual Local Author Fair features nearly 50 authors from the greater Kansas City area. Bring your holiday shopping list, sip some hot cocoa or cider, and choose from the best of what your local authors have to offer!

Local Author Fair
Author booths are located in the Woodneath Community Rooms and the Auditorium, and authors are grouped by the age of their intended audience: adults, teens, and children.
Resource Fair booths, featuring community organizations and free library services that benefit writers, are located in the Auditorium lobby and the Library. The Johnson County Library booth, located in the Auditorium lobby, will host five-minute stories for adults every half hour beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Visit The Story Center historic house for refreshments.

Johnson County Library Reading
With a mutual commitment to the local writing community, The Story Center at Mid-Continent Public Library and Johnson County Library offer collaborative programming at each other’s signature fall events. Today, past JCL writing contest winners will read their winning pieces, share how they approach writing prompts, and field questions about their creative lives. The reading will take place in The Story Center historic house.
