Backcountry Park Ranger Bob Stevenson will explore what happens when personal stories are sandwiched between geological stories and the geopolitics of the cold war.

If you’re curious, join Ranger Bob for a hike into the stark and wildly beautiful Circle Cliffs region of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

HIKE INFO:

  • Roads in the Circle Cliffs can be rough so high clearance vehicles are required (four-wheel drive recommended).
  • Two-miles round-trip - hike is not universally accessible.

WHAT TO BRING:

  • At least 2 liters of water
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Hiking shoes
  • Sunscreen, sunglasses, and hat

The Escalante Canyons Art Festival is a "working arts" celebration and has become one of the premiere art and literary gatherings in the region that welcomes visitors to the stunning landscapes of the Escalante Canyons in southern Utah.  Festival goers are treated to a plein air art exhibit and sale, an arts and crafts fair, live entertainment, a speakers series, workshops, and demonstrations.
