About this event

During this conference, participants will explore the history and the future of anchor impact in regions and the potential for when they collaborate in partnership with community. This convening will take a critical look at how Anchor Institutions have shown up in place and the potential for them to deepen their impact in creating economic opportunity and building community wealth. There will be interactive sessions including collaboratively envisioning how Anchor Institutions can leverage public policy to deepen the impact of anchor strategies.

Organized by

The Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN) is a growing national collaboration of 65+ leading healthcare systems building more inclusive and sustainable local economies that have adopted the “anchor mission.” The institutions leverage their substantial economic resources to benefit those experiencing the greatest inequities through hiring, purchasing, and investing in local, disinvested neighborhoods, to help build communities where all can be healthy and thrive. HAN exists to incubate and scale strategies that establish the anchor mission as a healthcare sector priority and to lead innovation in anchor mission implementation, both internally and in partnership with community.
