2023 Volunteer Registration - Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival

Festival Description

Cupertino's Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival is an interactive event that invites community members of all ages to learn about environmental issues and solutions in a family-friendly atmosphere. Consistently attracting over 5,000 attendees and about 100 partner organizations, the Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival features hands-on activities, live entertainment, and delicious food served by local food trucks.

The volunteers at Cupertino’s Earth Day & Arbor Day Festival are crucial members of the team and help to make the event possible through set up, registration assistance, waste management, hydration station management, Earth Day bike ride assistance, and much more! Your volunteering supports the City in holding a successful event that will engage community members in the diversity of programs and services that ensure Cupertino is healthy, sustainable, and resilient for generations to come.

Shifts

There will be three volunteer shifts for the event on April 22, 2023:

First Shift  8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Involves event set up, registration, and ends just in time to enjoy the event!

Second Shift  12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Involves assisting with keeping the event running smoothly through waste management, assisting Tabling Partners, break down, and more.

Third Shift 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Help us break down the festival equipment, keep the grounds clear of litter, assist in tabling breakdown.

You may reserve volunteer spots by registering one ticket per volunteer (e.g. if you would like to bring 10 volunteers for your group, you need only register once with a quantity of 10 tickets). Please try to be as accurate as possible when estimating how many volunteers you will have in your group.

If you do not end up needing all of the tickets you originally registered for, please email sustainability@cupertino.org as soon as possible. Volunteers can sign up for multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Volunteers will need to be able to comfortably move tables and chairs (can be done in pairs) and remain on their feet for the majority of their shift.
• All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older.
• All volunteers will be required to submit a signed waiver prior to starting their shift (those under the age of 18 will need a signature from their parent or guardian as well).

Once registered, volunteers/volunteer groups will be contacted using the contact information provided during registration. More detailed information will be given out closer to the event date, so stay tuned and remember to check your email in April!
