We proudly announce the 12th Annual Silicon Valley Latino Leadership Summit (SVLLS) Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Computer History Museum (CHM) in Mountain View, California. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the CHC pays tribute to local tech origins and provides a space that is accessible, welcoming, and inclusive of everyone in the community. CHC offers free Wi-Fi, free parking, and Tesla chargers. Attendees can view portions of the museum during breaks and after the summit.
The theme of our summit this year is "The Latinx Economy: It's Time, Es Tiempo." The day will be shaped by providing inspirational insights into how the Latinx population drives U.S. economic growth. According to a report from Latino Donor Collaborative, the gross domestic product (GDP) of U.S. Latinos was $2.8 trillion in 2020, up from $2.1 trillion in 2015 and $1.7 trillion in 2010. If the U.S. Latinx population were a separate country, based on GDP, it would be the fifth largest in the world, exceeding that of the United Kingdom, India, or France. This attests to the value of our gente (people) in strengthening the U.S. economy.
This year, we are pleased to have Gary Acosta as our morning keynote speaker, co-founder of L'ATTITUDE, and co-founder and CEO of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). Among other topics, he can certainly speak to the fact that Latinx home ownership has outpaced other non-Latinx groups, increasing rapidly since 2014. We are also honored to have as our afternoon keynote speaker Ana Valdez, President & CEO of the Latino Donor Collaborative, who will speak about the Latinx GDP – not just gross domestic product but gross domestic power.
As always, SVLLS focuses on highlighting and cultivating the Latinx leaders of today and tomorrow. The panelists in the morning plenary: Latinos Making an Impact Toward U.S. Economic Growth, will share insight into the Latinx growth in the finance sector and the economy at large. The panelists in the luncheon discussion: The Latino Leadership Pipeline, will discuss growing Latinx leadership across multiple industries. The summit will also celebrate the young scholars, our future leaders, from our local schools in Northern California.
We hope you can join us for another inspirational event that builds and sustains our growing professional Latinx community. This day, and every day, it is time to seize the moment – Es Tiempo.
