The seminar that occurred on Monday 3/6/23 focused on what you need to do to clearly communicate your business idea to be interesting, complete, persuasive and compelling to funders. A recording of the video is on our website

How will this seminar and Pitch Contest help me get funding for my business?

Accepted Answer

The key sections, structure and content that you need to include for a successful pitch will be discussed in the seminar. You will have the opportunity to put together a pitch and refine it with the help of a SCORE mentor (optional)

Do I have to attend the Pitch Tips & Tricks seminar in order to participate in the Pitch Contest?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not have to attend the Pitch Tips & Tricks seminar in order to participate in the Pitch Contest.  Attending the Pitch Tips & Tricks seminar is optional but will be a big help to you in developing your pitch.  The recorded seminar will also be available on the SCORE website after March 6.

Is pre-registration necessary for the seminar and the Pitch Contest?

Pre-registration for both the Pitch Tips & Tricks seminar and the Pitch Contest is Mandatory.  You can register for both using the same registration form here.

Question 5

What am I expected to submit for the Pitch Contest?

Accepted Answer

You will be asked to submit your Written Pitch (see Pitch Requirements) by March 31, 9 pm via email.  From the written submissions, a panel of judges will select 5-6 finalists to make an in-person pitch presentation on April 27.

Question 6

How many Pitch Contest winners will there be?

Accepted Answer

There will be 1 grand prize winner and two finalists.

Question 7

Are there prizes for the winner of the Pitch Contest?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a cash prize will be awarded.
