About this event
2023 Oklahoma Environmental Education Expo - "The Sustaining Power of Nature"
The 2023 Oklahoma Environmental Education Expo will focus on the many ways that nature sustains us. Nature-based learning can have benefits for academic, cognitive, psychological, and social functioning and the development of environmental consciousness.
Our Keynote Speaker is Conservation Biologist Laurie MacIvor Gillum. From oceans to the Amazon, Gillum has dedicated most of her life to studying endangered species, including cetaceans, chimpanzees, birds, and bugs. Her passion for protecting and sustaining the natural world led her on a surprising journey to teaching students, young and old, about how their relationship to the plants and animals around them can make a positive difference in the world.
We will also have a variety of hands-on and lecture style breakout presentations.
Register by 1/06/23 to get a discounted "early bird rate" and guaranteed lunch choice.
