The North Australia Savanna Fire Forum is back for 2023!

After the impacts of COVID meant the forum has been held online over the past two years, it has never been more important to get together to share knowledge to improve our understanding and practice of savanna fire management.

Since 2018, this annual forum has provided a place for Indigenous land managers, agencies, ecologists, spatial scientists and policy makers from across north Australia to connect and share knowledge about savanna fire management. Hosted by the Indigenous Carbon Industry Network (ICIN) with support from the Darwin Centre for Bushfire Research.

Picking up on the theme of the State of the Environment Report released in 2022, this year’s theme will be:

‘Our Past informs our Future’

In response to the growing program and attendance in this forum and to keep discussions focused to savanna fire management, please note ICIN will also host the 2023 National Indigenous Carbon Forum in April which will provide a dedicated space for discussions about the broader Indigenous carbon industry.
