Hilton Head Jazz Guitar Institute (recommended ages 14-20): $229 includes a 3-hour daily jazz guitar clinic (June 20-24, 1pm-4pm) with a professional jazz guitarist , a mid-week music trip, and finale performance on June 23. This new program is offered as a way for guitarists to have a grasp on how to play jazz in a non-competitive setting and improve upon and reading, ensemble playing and improvisation. At least two to three years of playing experience is a pre-requisite for the jazz guitar institute. This program is a highly recommended for any guitarists who also plan on attending the Hilton Head Jazz Camp and a discount is provided for those that enroll in both options. During the week, there is also a full day music trip to Savannah on Wednesday, June 21 with lunch provided. A final joint performance with the Hilton Head Jazz Clinic will be held in the HHCA Performing Arts Center on Friday, June 23rd at 5pm.
Here is the detailed schedule of the HH Jazz Guitar Institute:
June 19-20: 1-4pm (Jazz Guitarist Institute Rehearsal)
June 21: 9am-TBA (Morning Music Trip to Savannah)
June 22-23: 1-4pm (Jazz Guitar Institute Rehearsal), 5pm Finale Performance (June 23 only)
