Please join us on April 20th, 2023 at 5:30pm at Bowen's Island Restaurant as we work to not only raise money for the MUSC CARES Medical Clinic, but recognize and bring awareness to the need for physician volunteers who serve our community. Oyster Roast, Dinner, live music and silent auction all to benefit the CARES Medical Clinic. Event planned and executed by the MUSC College of Health Profession's, Masters of Healthcare Administration students.

The CARES Medical Clinic of MUSC Health is a non-profit medical clinic that offers primary care, preventive services, and referral options at no charge to uninsured adults through their clinic in Mount Pleasant, SC. CARES stands for “Community Aid, Relief, Education & Support." The clinic aims to expose students to the nuances of providing patient care to a population with diverse and ever-changing healthcare needs. The clinic also works to foster inter-professional cooperation of students, healthcare professionals, and members of the community in addressing healthcare disparities while understanding community healthcare needs through service to the under-served.

Not only do we aim to raise money for the CARES Medical Clinic, but we also aim to raise awareness of the importance of this clinic within our community and the need for more physician volunteers to provide quality healthcare at no cost to the under-served populations of South Carolina.

5:30: Oyster Happy Hour, Live Music & Sunset Views

6:30: Dock House Dinner

7:15: “We Care About CARES” Presentation followed by Silent Auction & Raffle Awards

INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET:

-Local steamed oysters as well as a raw bar complete with a professional shucker and all the fixings

-Your dinner choice of either Bowen's Islands famous frogmore stew OR pulled pork BBQ, all served alongside green beans and pickles. Vegetarian options are available by request. Desserts include cakes and cookies from local bakeries.

MUSIC: Live music

BAR OPTIONS: Alcohol will be served via a cash bar.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress appropriately for mid-March on the water in Charleston. The event will be held at the “Dock House” of Bowen's Island, which is a covered house with open air windows allowing access to the docks alongside amazing views. If the weather is to be cold, the windows of the Dock house would be closed, and heaters would be placed throughout the event.

RAFFLE: There will be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets will be available for purchase with cash or charge at the event.

SILENT AUCTION: There will be over 20 items that you won’t want to miss out on! Including local art, a round of golf for 4, outdoor adventure packages, local shop and restaurant gift certificates, outdoor apparel, local tour packages, business/professional services, and much more!

PARKING: After turning onto Bowen's Island, please follow the road all the way down until you get to the restaurant. Parking will be on your right and the restaurant will be on your left.

EVENT LOCATION: The event will take place on the Dock House. Please find the table to check in with your tickets outside the entrance to the dock.

TERMS & CONDITIONS: The event is rain or shine; the venue is covered. No refunds will be given for inclement weather. All sales are final. We do ask those attending to drink responsibly or consider taking an Uber to the event.
