The 2022 Tennessee Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting will begin with 30 minutes of business, including a vote for officers.
About this event
We invite you to register for the 173rd Annual Membership Meeting, when we will vote on the officers and directors for 2022–23. Following our business meeting, Dr. Rachel Stephens, Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Alabama, will speak on “Naming the Unnamed: Race and Removal in Antebellum Tennessee Portraits.” Dr. Stephens will present her recent research on Tennessee portraits by Ralph E.W. Earl, James Cameron, and others, with emphasis on those who are missing—Indigenous and enslaved people.
