Join us for the 2022 Sheldon Art Association gala.
About this event
The Sheldon Art Association invites you to Evening of Lights, a gala to support education programs and exhibitions at Sheldon Museum of Art.
Cocktail hour will start at 6pm, followed by dinner at 7.
Imagine yourself at Coney Island in the early 1900s, thoroughly surrounded by the latest technology—millions of electric light bulbs. Artist Joseph Stella captured the feeling of being “instantly struck by the dazzling array of lights” in a series of paintings that includes Battle of Lights, Coney Island. Join us for an evening inspired by this work from Sheldon’s collection.
This year we will honor Candy and Tom Henning with the Sheldon Award. Candy and Tom are passionate about both their love of art and the power of art education to change lives. They share an impactful history of community engagement, advocacy for Sheldon Museum of Art, and support for the University of Nebraska. In appreciation for this dedication to the arts and Sheldon they will be given the Sheldon Award.
We encourage you to dress for the theme or wear cocktail attire.
Tickets are available on a first-come basis through this page or by calling Laurel Ybarra at 402-472-1454. Please call regarding table purchases. Tickets are limited. Ticket sales end Wednesday, April 27 at 3PM CT.
