2022 R-10 Paddleboard Race. This year is the 24th Annual Race and we look forward to seeing you in the water this summer.

About this event

Welcome to the 2022 R-10 Paddleboard Race. This year is the 24th Annual Race and we look forward to seeing many old faces return to one of the South Bay's original paddleboard races. New this year is co-sponsorship with Oceans Prone.

We are once again a part of the International Surf Festival family of events throughout the South Bay. The course will be a water start from Torrance Beach (just south of the main lifeguard tower) out to the R-10 (PV-10) Buoy and back to the beach (beach finish). The course is approximately 7 miles out and back. Paddleboards and SUPs are all invited.

R-10 Information: The race dates back to 1997 and the tradition continues.

In keeping with tradition, each paddler will receive an Event T-shirt, a breakfast burrito, and an entry into the post race raffle.

All boards are invited - Just make sure you can handle the surf to get out to the start line and the beach finish.

Paddlers should be able to complete a 7 mile paddle in under 2 hours. If not, I highly recommend entering the Velzy-Stevens Pier to Pier race on Sunday, August 7th in Manhattan Beach.

Online registration: $40 - Event t-shirt and breakfast burrito guaranteed with early registration! The race is only $20 for paddlers 17 and Under.

Beach registration: This makes more work for the race organizers so the entry fee is higher (my apologies but hopefully you can register in advance) $60 (T-shirt size is not guaranteed) - Check-in starting at 6:30 am. Race starts at 8 am.

If you need to rent a board for the race, check out https://www.oceansprone.com/rentals-and-lessons/p/rentals to rent a premium race board for this year's race.

Any net proceeds from the race will go to support Harbor Interfaith Services serving homeless families in the South Bay.

Thank you!
