About this event
THE SYMPOSIUM
The 2022 Project Threadways Symposium will offer in-person and virtual experiences. In addition to the presentations, in-person guests will experience the local community in Florence, Alabama—steeped in textile history—through food, drink, and conversation.
The list of speakers includes Carrie Barske-Crawford, Director of the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area, Jessamyn Hatcher and Thuy Lin Tu, professors of Global Studies at New York University, Janneken Smucker, professor and historian at West Chester University, singer-songwriter and Rosanne Cash, artist Diana Weymar of Tiny Pricks Project, and designer Barbara de Vries.
SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Project Threadways is committed to making our symposium safe. Ticket holders must provide proof of vaccination (2 shots of Moderna or Pfizer and 1 of J&J) no later than two weeks prior to the event or negative PCHR test within 48 hours of the event to attend the symposium. Our team will be in contact to receive this documentation. Masks will be required at events held at indoor venues. We are following national guidance from the CDC to create the safest possible environment for symposium guests.
