2022 LG 5K Fun Run

The Vail Valley Charitable Fund is pleased to announce the LG Tri 5K Fun Run on Friday, July 8th at 5pm at the Mountain Recreation Eagle Pool & Ice Rink located in beautiful Eagle, CO!

It is with heavy and vibrantly hopeful hearts that we have cancelled the 14th annual LG Sprint Tri event on Saturday, July 9th. The Eagle pool not opening for this summer was certainly a driving force and though other factors came into play as well. In true triathlon nature, the swim portion of the event one key component – as is the bike ride, as is the run. And so we move forward! Beyond our event, this is unfortunate for our community – and Mountain Rec has done everything in their willpower to change this unforeseen outcome. We are accepting that some things are out of our control and pushing forward. There isn't a force in this world that could prevent us from celebrating the vibrant soul of Laura Genelin - whom we intend to continue to honor with this special event.

We are proud to announce that the legacy lives on through this event and though the celebration will look a little different this year. Join us on Friday, July 8th at 5pm the Eagle Ice Rink outdoor area, where live music, pizza, beer, stories, a silent auction, and a 5K fun run will all go down. Spirits will be held high! Please join us. There is a suggested donation of $20. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided as well. All proceeds go to the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, a local organization created in 1996 to assist individuals who live and work in the Vail Valley who are experiencing financial hardship due to a medical crisis or long-term illness.
