The International Surf Festival Surfing Championships will be held on the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. This venue is one of the premier surfing locations in the South Bay.

This surf contest is one of the original events of the International Surf Festival when the event began in 1962. This year marks the 59th annual contest.

The 2022 International Surfing Championships we will consist of Groms, Junior, Men’s and Women's Long Board snd Short Board events.

 Grom's 12 and Under - any board OK

Junior's 13 - 16

Men's Short Board 17 and Up (also medals to 50 & Over)

Women's Short Board

Women's Long Board

Long Board Junior (20 and Under)

Long Board Men's 21 and Up (also medals to 60 and Over

You may register for a SECOND EVENT for only $15.00

​Medals will be awarded to top 3 places and T-shirt’s to all competitors entries receied by August 4th. beach entry T's till supply is out. 

Long Boards must be 9 ft or 3 ft over head.  Short Boards 7ft 6 in.

Will there be beach entries?

 There will be yes beach entries. If available.

 If postponed due to weather or poor conditions when will the make up be?

 The contest will be re-held the next day or following Saturday.

 When will I get my goodie bag if the contest is postponed?

 Bags may be picked up on original scheduled day or make up day.

 Who will receive T-shirts?

 T-shirts are guaranteed to pre registration entries received by August 4th, 2022.

 What determines board length?

 A short board is 7’6” or under.  A long board is 9’ or 3’ over your head.

 How many contestants advance?

 50% of the contestants will advance per heat in each round. Except 2nd chance heat if one is held.
