HYBA is excited to present our new 2022 Summer Skills Program to challenge your kid to improve their skills and help build their character

About this event

The HYBA Skills & Drills program is designed to encourage, challenge and recognize players who put in the time to improve their basketball skills this summer.

Who: for HYBA boys and girls players entering 2nd through 8th grade (2022-23 school year)

When: the program is self-guided and starts May 29th and ends August 27th.

Your and your player will track their time they invest this summer, working on their basketball skills (dribbling and shooting), attending basketball camps, playing basketball in organized leagues, and/or playing pickup ball with their friends.

Key Dimensions of the Program

  • Individual skill development (5 minutes/day bonus for doing the skills challenge)
  • Multi-sport athlete (300 minute bonus for playing a non-basketball summer sport)
  • Building Character and Community through volunteering (up to 180 minutes, your player chooses who they wish to help)

How to Track: click this link to get the Google tracking sheet * which you can use to tabulate your progress.

* to create your own digital tracking sheet, click to open the template, then click "File > Make a Copy" and save a version to your Google Drive. From there you can enter your minutes directly into the Tracking tab.

After August 27, when the Skills & Drills program ends, the HYBA will collect your tracking sheet, compile the results, and award all players who reach the following levels:

Recognition Levels

  • Gold 1,000 minutes - Recognition T-Shirt
  • Black 3,000 minutes - Recognition Sweatshirt
  • Top Finisher Top 10% point finishers - Recognition Sweatshirt & $10 Dunham's Gift Certificate.

All award winners will be commemorated on the HYBA Skills & Drills Wall of Fame, on the HYBA website.
