The GRFD Fire Prevention Foundation brings the official FIREFIGHTER CHALLENGE to MI! We need YOUR support to make this event a success!
About this event
With an anticipated crowd of over 10,000 people, this event will bring together competitors from across the country to compete in the most recognized firefighter training course in the world, while working to educate and inspire current and future first responders!
Event Highlights
- The Firefighter Challenge – Sworn firefighters in full bunker gear and civilian athletes complete in their divisions against the best of the best!
- Family friendly activities and a Kid’s Challenge Course, presented by Meijer!
- The Charity Relay Challenge – Businesses and non-profits run as a team on an adjusted course for the charity of their choice!
- Educational and Recruitment opportunities – Learn what it takes to become a member of the fire service!
- A Beer City Tent and Food Trucks!
The Grand Rapids 2022 Firefighter Challenge fundraising goal is $150,000 through Sponsorship and In-Kind Donations.
The funds raised will be used in the following ways:
- Directly support the 2022 Firefighter Challenge Event in GR.
- Enable the GRFD Fire Prevention Foundation to support local fire safety educational programs provided through public school sessions, free smoke alarm installations, and community events.
- Promote fire service recruitment opportunities in West Michigan, and across the state, where there is an urgent need for dedicated, hard-working, and community driving individuals.
- Support the First Responders Institute’s continued efforts to improve and maintain the health and well-being of first responders.
