About this event

Sponsored by the UF/IFAS School of Forest, Fisheries and Geomatics Sciences (SFFGS) and Florida Division Society of American Foresters (SAF)

Forestry and natural resource professionals are encouraged to attend! Join us for the latest on prescribed fire practice in Florida, fire weather and planning tools, ecosystem restoration, Southern Fire Exchange resources, and more. The meeting will also include a session on forestry ethics, an update from our SAF District Board representative Tom Fox, FL Division SAF Awards, our social and dinner on October 11, FL Division SAF Business Meeting, and a field trip with Dr. Daniel Johnson to explore a fire ecology experiment at Ordway-Swisher Biological Station on October 12. Note: the Oct. 12 afternoon field trip is now FULL.

This event is approved for a total of 10.0 Cat. 1 SAF Continuing Education Credits!

This event will also satisfy the 8 hours of continuing education required every 5 years for certified prescribed burners to maintain their certification.


Current SAF Members: $125 full registration (no Eventbrite fee)

Non SAF Members: $150 regular full registration (no Eventbrite fee)

Single day registrations are available (+Eventbrite fee)
