Cathedral Day 2022: Return to your Roots! ~ Welcome back to your cathedral after two years away; let's reconnect!

Cathedral Day 2022 will be held on Saturday, May 7. Holy Eucharist and liturgy for confirmations, receptions, and reaffirmation will begin at 10:30am at Saint Mark’s Cathedral, Seattle. We invite all in the diocese to join us for this special celebration. Following the service, all are invited to have lunch from our food trucks, participate in games and activities for all ages.

It will be a delightful day of community. Please come and join us!

The schedule for the day is as follows:

  • 9:00am - Confirmands, Sponsors, Clergy, Church Representatives arrive for rehearsal, meet with Bishop Rickel
  • 10:10am - Procession forms in front of Cathedral (outdoors)
  • 10:30am -12:30pm - Confirmation liturgy
  • 12:00pm - Food trucks ready for lunch service
  • Activities - 1:00pm - 3:00pm

    • Bounce house sponsored by Camp Huston, scavenger hunt, collaborative art project, garden activities including making seed bombs, planting, and recycled paper airplanes that will be launched from the organ loft

    • Meet New Friends icebreaker activity, music, labyrinth, Indigenous Coastal Salish artist Peter Boome's art show, tour of the mighty Flentrop organ, garden-themed photo booth

Evangelism and Creation Care Workshops

    1:00 - Brian Sellers-Petersen, Diocese of Olympia Agrarian Missioner and Good News Garden Consultant, invites you to "Bee" Spreaders of Good News! -- A workshop on gardening and evangelism. [Jerusalem Greer, Evangelism Officer of the Episcopal Church, has had to cancel because of COVID concerns.]

    2:00 - Neighborhood Evangelism Prayer Walk with Adam Conley, Saint Mark's Staff/ Seattle Service Corp Director

    2:00 - Brian Sellers Petersen invites hands-on participation in the Leffler House garden .
