Event description
Celebrate the life of Scotland's most prominent bard, Robert Burns!

About this event

Come enjoy a traditional Scottish Supper in honor of Robert Burns at Historic Rural Hill. Space for this premier event is limited, and tickets must be purchased in advance. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening and there will be a cash bar with beer, wine and Scotch whisky.

The event will feature a three course dinner and one free pour of Scotch whisky for the toast to the immortal memory of Robert Burns.  The dinner will be catered by Bouk Catering.

The event will be hosted by Jack Pressley.

The night will also feature live music from a piper Phillip Diaz.

Burns Night Suppers are held around the world in celebration of Poet Robert Burns’ birthday typically around January 25th. The tradition started in July of 1801 when his friends met at his old home to celebrate the 5th year since his passing. A traditional Burns Night consists of haggis being piped in, a three course meal, several drams of whisky and performances honoring Burns’ great works. Robert Burns (25 January 1759 – 21 July 1796), also known as Rabbie Burns, the Bard of Ayrshire, Ploughman Poet and various other names and epithets, was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide. He is the best known of the poets who have written in the Scots language, although much of his writing is also in English and a light Scots dialect, accessible to an audience beyond Scotland. He also wrote in standard English, and in these writings his political or civil commentary is often at its bluntest.

This event is proudly sponsored by the McIntosh Law Firm and presented by Historic Rural Hill.

The Burns Supper is a fundraising dinner for Historic Rural Hill and the Loch Norman Highland Games, a non-profit historic site. Tickets are non-refundable.

Doors will open at 6:00 and dinner service will begin after the ode to the haggis, around 7:00 with toasts following dinner.
