Event description
The 2021 STEAM Carnival is going VIRTUAL!

About this Event

STEAM Carnival is the brainchild of Los Angeles think tank and talent magnet, Two Bit Circus. A company known for building products at the crossroads of amusement and education, this interdisciplinary team strives to make entertainment more enriching and education more fun.

Two Bit Circus is led by Brent Bushnell and Eric Gradman. Bushnell is an engineer and an entrepreneur who was featured as an inventor on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (he's also the son of Atari founder Nolan Bushnell), and Gradman's background includes experience as a circus performer, professional whistler, roboticist, and inventor.

After a 2015 happen-by-chance meeting between ESC 11 personnel and the Two Bit Circus founders, a new version of the field trip was born. Less than a year later, the Carnival came to town!

The 2021 Virtual event will mark the 5th consecutive year hosting the STEAM Carnival in conjunction with Two Bit Circus and the Two Bit Circus Foundation. This year's event will be unlike any previous event, where we saw over 4,000 kids engage in hands-on learning, student showcases, and four zones of activities over the 3-hour "Carnival." The 2021 event will be held virtually with individual, small-group, and even whole classroom challenges. The online platform will host virtual challenges for the classroom teams, along with live activities with our hosts. We are also VERY excited to share that we will be able to house our 2021 Student Showcases in our custom-built virtual Showcase Arena.

Sessions will last roughly 2 to 2.5 hours with a short break in the middle to reset and finish the field trip strong. We can't wait to see you there!!
