Please Join us at the 2021 Virtual Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference: Bridges to Coalition

About this Event

Kick off 2021 with "Bridges to Coalition", our 2021 virtual conference to help set the stage for effective climate legislation this year. After opening remarks by Senator Chris Coons, we will start off with a panel discussion from diverse voices on what it means to build bridges to coalition. That theme of building bridges to coalition will be echoed throughout the conference with workshops and panel discussions and talks on how we can all be part of the solutions needed for climate solutions.

You can see the full schedule on our Conference Website.

For more information, please contact Sabrina Fu: sabrina.fu@citizensclimatelobby.org

Registration closes Friday, January 29th at midnight ET. Please RSVP to obtain the Zoom meeting information. Emails with the Zoom information will be sent to those who have registered by that Friday.

By registering for this event, you are giving Citizens' Climate Lobby and Citizens' Climate Education permission to send you emails including information about CCL/CCE and how you can volunteer and support our work. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing unsubscribe@citizensclimatelobby.org.

CCL Mid-Atlantic “Bridges to Coalition” art contest invitation

For ages 4 to adult:

Would you like to have some fun? Maybe win a prize?

You’re invited to enter an art contest!

What it’s about:

We are looking for submissions that express the idea of building connections, especially those that require reaching out across boundaries or differences.

Was there a time when you figured out a way to find common ground with someone even when you didn’t agree? Have you ever experienced having someone take the time to listen and try to understand even you though the two of you come from opposite sides of an issue?

Can you create an entry in any medium that expresses that feeling? It can be artwork, a song, a video, a dance, a poem or anything else that conveys the feeling of sharing or cooperation.

Who can enter:

Ages 4 to adult

Prizes and details

Enter your submission of any medium and be sure to title it "Bridges to Coalition,” which is the name of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby conference. 1st place will receive $100, 2nd will receive $60, and 3rd will receive $30. *ANY VIDEO OR AUDIO SUBMISSIONS MUST BE LESS THAN 3 MINUTES IN LENGTH*

Where do I send my submission?

Upload your submission to https://forms.gle/NcTcadGUorZyTFqA9

The name and photo associated with your Google account will be recorded when you upload files and submit this form. The submission deadline is midnight on January 28th

When will the prizes be awarded?

There will be live voting on Saturday, January 30th until 7 p.m. Then we will have time to share thoughts from some of the artists and announce the top three winners!

If you have young children who might want to enter, the following might be helpful:

You know how it feels when a friend shares their game with you? Or when they agree to take turns when you are playing? How about when they really listen to you when you have something to say? It can even be about a time when you didn’t agree with someone but you both figured out a way to agree.

Can you create something that lets us know how that feels? It can be artwork, a song, a video, a dance, a poem or anything else that conveys the feeling of sharing or cooperation.

Come and see what Max and team has cooking for you at the Virtual Funhouse Saturday, January 30 at 7:30 p.m.

Come to the Activism-Life: From Balance to Integration workshop at 3:30 p.m. on January 30.

Hear stories from volunteers about struggles with integrating activism with all that life throws at them, and leave with some tools on how to prioritize and find joy. Emphasis on young volunteers and support we can provide.
