About this event

In partnership with Navajo Indigenous LAUNCH and the Navajo Nation Division of Behavioral and Mental Health Services, the First Things First Navajo Nation Regional Partnership Council will present the virtual 2021 Diné Early Childhood Summit on Wednesday, August 25 - Thursday, August 26, 2021.

This year’s summit will feature exciting keynote speakers and work sessions tailored to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation and System Building. We hope you will join us to learn, and discuss and plan effective ways to support young children and families on the Navajo Nation. Attendees can expect to be actively engaged and will be asked to participate in case study scenarios, world cafe style conversations and a strategic planning work session with the goal of enhancing the early childhood system on Navajo Nation.

All key stakeholders and decision-makers whose programs provide services to young children and their families are encouraged to attend:

  • Child Welfare (courts, social services, foster family programs, juvenile justice)
  • Education (child care, Head Start, state/BIE funded early childhood programs)
  • Health (pediatrics, oral health, mental health, nutrition, OB/GYN)
  • Prevention (early intervention, home visitation)
  • Maternal Child Health (services/care, studies/cohorts)
