About this event

This event page is solely for registration for the field workshop at Chehalem Ridge Nature Park. Find more info and register for the full Summit at https://outdoorsummit.brand.live/c/home.

This tour will address balancing conservation with public access goals, as well as planning with a racial equity lens. The new nature park will offer opportunities to hike, ride an off-road bicycle or horse, and enjoy nature close to home. The trail system, built with the support of a Local Government Grant from ORPD, includes three miles of “all ages and abilities trails” built to accessibility standards.

Presenter/Tour Leader(s):

Karen Vitkay, PLA, Senior Regional Planner (she, her), Metro Parks and Nature

Possibly other Metro staff to be confirmed.

AICP CM, LA CES PDH, or CEU/PDH equivalency petition credits available through our partnership with American Trails.

COVID Precautions: Workshop participants will be required to wear masks during tour, and tour groups will be limited to 10 participants.

The workshop/tour will be about 3.5 miles from start to finish. This will be on a mix of accessible trail, natural surface trail (also ADA grades) and gravel road (one area of 12% grade). Please let us know if there are accommodations that would best allow you to fully participate. Note: As park constructions may not be complete at the time of this workshop, in-park restrooms may not be available.
