2021 Michigan Bail Agents Legislative Meeting.

2021 will be a challenging year defending the right to bail in Michigan. Last years late surge to introduce and pass anti-bail legislation was defeated only due to the collaborative effort of our entire team. Representative LaGrand has already indicated that he will once again introduce his anti-bail package. Other legislation has already been drafted that would challenge a defendants right to bail and our industry.

As we have historically, we must defend against these efforts to dismantle accountability in the criminal justice system.

Whether or not you have or have not attended a meeting before, now is the time! 2021 will be our biggest challenge yet. We can do this together - and we need your input!

This meeting is an open meeting for all licensed bail agents and bail professionals in Michigan. Hosted by the American Bail Coalition, this meeting will include members of ABC's lobby team, members of MPBAA, and ABC's Executive Director Jeff Clayton.

The meeting will be held in an open airport hanger at the Pontiac Airport to accommodate for proper social distancing.
