LIVE's annual membership meeting will be held virtually March 30-31, 2021.

About this event

Join us for two days of educational sessions, networking, and the LIVE annual membership meeting. Virtual check-in will begin at 8:45 am each day, followed by presentations. This event is open to non-members in addition to LIVE members.

Keynote Speaker Bios

STEPHEN SATTERFIELD, CO-FOUNDER AND PUBLISHER, WHETSTONE MAGAZINE

Self proclaimed “Origin Forager” Stephen is a food writer, multimedia producer and founder of Whetstone Magazine. Before his career in media, he was social entrepreneur, advocating for wine as a catalyst for economic development for black and indigenous wine workers in South Africa’s Western Cape.

Stephen is a sommelier in recovery, having spent more than a decade working in fine restaurants throughout the United States. In addition to founding and editing Whetstone, he’s written for Esquire, Wall Street Journal, SF Chronicle, NY Magazine and several other notable magazines and newspapers.

CRYSTAL CHISSELL, JD, MS, MBA, SENIOR DIRECTOR OF PARTNERSHIPS, PROJECT DRAWDOWN

As Vice President of Operations & Engagement at Project Drawdown, Crystal draws on her deep experience and interdisciplinary background in local and state government, law, business and social equity to build effective systems and operating infrastructure at Project Drawdown. She also leads the cultivation of strategic partnerships and networks that foster public engagement to move the world toward climate solutions. She speaks publicly about climate solutions and serves as an expert resource for news media, interest groups and advocacy organizations.

Prior to Project Drawdown, Crystal was a practicing attorney, advising the City of Baltimore and the Maryland Environmental Service. She served as Mayor of the Town of Highland Beach, Maryland. Crystal holds a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law, an M.S. in Environmental Science from Johns Hopkins University, an M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco, and a B.A. in Journalism from Howard University.
