Event description
HudsonAlpha Beacon is a tool to help educators find life science content from a distance.

About this event

Cross-cutting concepts link the entire scope of your biology course, yet students often miss that “forest” for studying the “trees.” How can we use simple, accessible activities to make these CCCs evident and unify our biology instruction? This three-day session combines synchronous and asynchronous learning to answer that question.

Registration is $40* and includes materials to complete independent hands-on activities shipped prior to the workshop as well as additional classroom materials upon successful completion of the program. (Due to the ordering and shipping of materials, no refunds will be issued).

*Registration for Alabama public school teachers is subsidized by the Alabama State Department of Education and the Alabama Legislature.

This virtual interaction will be held July 26- July 30, 2021 from 9:00 am-4:00 pm CT daily. For this session, we will have group and independent work through various platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, and FlipGrid. We will email registrants a schedule, session instructions, and other crucial information prior to the event.

Upon conclusion of the session, certificates will be provided documenting 16 hours of professional learning, if requested on the registration. Alabama educators, this session is eligible for PowerSchool credit.
