“Honesty, Trust, and Hard Work” The Story behind the success of Two Men and a Truck, with speaker, Brig Sorber.
About the Speaker
Brig and his younger brother Jon started Two Men and a Truck in the early 1980s, to earn extra money while they were in high school. The brothers started moving people in the Lansing MI. area using an old pickup truck. They placed an ad in a local shopping guide. It included a “stick figure logo” designed by their mother, Mary Ellen, which remains the international corporate logo for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK/INTERNATIONAL, Inc.
Upon graduation from college, Brig operated his own TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise in Marquette, MI, with his wife Francine. In September 1996 Brig returned home to Lansing to help restructure the Two Men and a Truck system. Brig assumed the role of president in 2007 and is currently the Executive Chairman. The company is the nation’s largest franchised local moving company with a fleet of more than 2,800 trucks and more than 380 locations in 43 states as well as Canada, Ireland, and England.
The company has come a long way – and logged a lot of miles – since Mary Ellen sketched the “first stick-men”. The company continues to pave the way for future growth and innovation while remaining rooted in the core principles of exceeding customers’ expectations. Brig attributes the system’s success to its foundation of HONESTY, TRUST, and HARD WORK.
Brig Sorber is a popular and sought-after speaker as many business organizations and education institutions seek to hear the story about his faith, his business leadership, philosophy and the growth of a nationwide company.
