Description

General Assembly is an annual WSSDA event where school board directors vote on WSSDA's legislative and permanent positions. These positions reflect the voice of our members and serve as our advocacy platform. All school directors are strongly encouraged to participate. District staff are also welcome to attend, but only school directors may address the assembly and vote per WSSDA policy 1290 and procedure 1290P.

How can I book a hotel room at The Centennial Hotel, Spokane?

IMPORTANT: RESERVE YOUR ROOM IMMEDIATELY

The WSSDA room block will be held at the guaranteed state rate of $114 through August 25th. Any reservations made after August 25th will be at the current competitive rate.

Upon arrival, mention to the front desk that you are with WSSDA and be prepared to show something that identifies you with your school district (a name badge, district ID card, your photo on the school board Web page etc.).

Who should attend?

All school directors are encouraged to attend the General Assembly. The legislative representative for local school boards often serve as their district's delegate to the assembly, but the delegate could be any member of your school board.

What is the cost to register?

Each school board will receive one code to enable complimentary registration for your district’s voting delegate. The code is your district’s county-district number, which can only be used once. Any additional registrant will be charged $149.

What does registration (complimentary and paid) include?

Registration includes entry to the General Assembly on Friday, September 24th and Saturday, September 25th and a box lunch each of those days. All other meals will be on your own.

How can I learn about the positions or the process beforehand?

The complete list of permanent and legislative positions can be found on our website. The handbook will be posted on the General Assembly page, available to download, by August 24th.

Can I pay with a check or purchase order?

Yes. These options are available when you check out online. If you should have any further questions, please email assembly@wssda.org and a staff member will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes. Please refer to your confirmation email. There is a View and Manage link at the bottom of this email that will take you directly to Eventbrite to update your order. If you have any issues with accessing your order or have further questions please email assembly@wssda.org and a staff member will get back to you as soon as possible.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No ticket or confirmation number is needed at check-in.

How do I cancel my registration?

Cancel your registration online by returning to the link where you register or email Antonio at t.gonzalez@wssda.org. In the email, please include the school district name and the name of each registrant you are cancelling for.

Refunds:

Full refunds are available if you cancel before September 17, 2021. After this date a partial refund of $50 will be honored. Refunds are not provided for no-shows. Refunds for payments made via credit card will be applied to the credit card used for purchase.

Can I register for General Assembly in-person on September 24th or 25th?

Attendees are encouraged to register online, prior to the event. Walk-in registrations will be accepted, however payment must be made via check or purchase order only.

Who can I talk to about accommodations for special needs or disabilities?

Please contact us at assembly@wssda.org as soon as possible (at least one week before the event) if you might require special physical, dietary or other accommodations. A staff member will get back to you as soon as possible.

Event Terms and Conditions 

Pursuant to WAC 292-110-010, WSSDA is a state agency responsible for the proper use of state resources.  Unauthorized distribution of materials that support, promote the interests of, or solicit for an outside organization or group by an attendee at any WSSDA-sponsored event or in any conference facility utilized by WSSDA for such events may result in revocation of the credentials that allow that individual to attend the event and/or barring of that individual’s attendance at future WSSDA-Sponsored events.
