About this event

Steve Carlin and Lloyd Llewelyn of the Carlin Company are expanding the Food Halls 101 (FH101) conference and have assembled a world-class panel of experts for 2021. Joining Steve and Lloyd are Phil Colicchio, Executive Managing Director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Colicchio Consulting team, and Sherry Villanueva, owner and managing partner of ACME Hospitality and the brains behind the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. The panelists will present individual case studies and participate in a series of barstool discussions to be held November 8-9 at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Copia in Napa, California.

The two-day conference is designed to provide real estate professionals, public agency planners, design architects, operators, hospitality partners and other interested parties with insightful and critical information on how several varieties of food-based real estate projects are created and operated. The FH101 seminar will focus on the triple bottom line approach. It will provide guidance to help participants understand how to: (1) make successful decisions relating to market analysis, financial expectations, design, operational oversight and day-to-day management critical to the creation of a strong profit center; (2) support vendor-quality and the expansion of the artisan food industry; and, (3) build a successful, activated community hub.

The Westin Verasa Napa is the Exclusive Hotel Sponsor of FH101. For your discounted rate, please visit Westin Verasa Napa. Rooms are limited at the discounted rate and expire on October 15 - reserve today!

Visit the Food Halls 101 web page for information on the agenda and the presenters.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ):

What are the COVID protocols? Click here for our COVID protocols. Although California has the lowest coronavirus transmission rate of any state (as announced on September 27), we are taking a conservative approach to ensure the comfortability of our guests and will require that all guests provide one of the following:

(1) proof of vaccination or (2) proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of the last day of the conference. The morning Oxbow Tour and the evening reception will be hosted outdoors. The indoor conference is intimate and seating is distanced to ensure our guests are comfortable. Our top priority remains with the health and safety of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, and staff.

FH101 Covid-19 safety protocols will be updated as new information becomes available and as local restrictions are amended. On the week of November 1, guests will be notified via email with the latest FH101 protocol updates based on CDC guidelines in Napa County. Currently, there is a mask mandate in Napa County.

Our event team and our venue sponsors/partners will comply with local guidelines and follow applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those related to privacy, to determine the prevention strategies needed at the time of the conference. Our top priority remains with the health and safety of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, and staff. By adhering to Covid-19 safety guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, California State, and local health authorities Food Halls 101 staff and its partners aim to provide a compliant and welcoming environment for our guests.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
