Event description
It's the time of year to team up with our local radio station—The Fox 98.5—for the 11th Annual Fishing with the Fox tagged fishing contest!

About this event

This event exists to encourage anglers—local and far—to fish at one of the three designated bodies of water(don't forget to social distance) and catch one of the hundreds of tagged rainbow trout in the Uintah Basin: Moon Lake, Moose Pond and Steinaker Reservoir. This year, the trout are tagged with a purple tag that says 'DWR WIN' with a corresponding number from 001-550. Tags can be registered and turned in beginning Monday, May 26, at 12:00 p.m. through Sunday, August 1, at 11:59 p.m. (*Note: You can catch-and-keep the trout with the tag, OR catch-and-release the trout. If you choose to practice catch-and-release, please just swiftly pull or clip the tag from the trout, then release it.)

This summer, you will want to take advantage of this free, family-fun event. Going fishing at one of the three designated locations will also get you a stamp in the 2021 Uintah County - Dinosaurland Passport to Summer.

So round up your fishing gear, catch a tagged fish, register the information online and be entered for the 'Alive After Five' grand finale prize drawing! The prize drawing will occur on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, from 5-8 p.m. at the Uintah County library park. You must be present to win OR register an alternative person to represent you at the drawing.
