Event description
You're invited to the 3rd-annual Dallas Conference on Science & Faith, hosted by Discovery Institute in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

About this Event

Does our universe point to God? Do molecules show evidence of foresight? Were humans produced through an unguided evolutionary process or by intelligent design? Explore these questions and more at the third annual Dallas Conference on Science & Faith, sponsored by Discovery Institute on February 20, 2021.

Speakers will include:

  • Stephen C. Meyer, best-selling author of Signature in the Cell, Darwin’s Doubt, and the forthcoming Return of the God Hypothesis (March 2021)
  • Melissa Cain Travis, author of Science and the Mind of the Maker and Assistant Professor of Christian Apologetics at Houston Baptist University
  • Marcos Eberlin, member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and author of Foresight: How the Chemistry of Life Reveals Planning and Purpose
  • William Dembski, author of many path-breaking books on intelligent design, including The Design Revolution, The Design Inference, and Intelligent Design: The Bridge Between Science and Theology
  • Casey Luskin, Associate Director of Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture, co-author of Science and Human Origins, and co-author of the Discovering Intelligent Design curriculum

Ticket Types

We are offering the same pricing for both in-person attendance and online streaming, to provide the flexibility for you and your family to join in whatever format works best this year. For households of 4 or greater, a discounted flat rate is available for both in-person and online registration, to lower the total cost and encourage as many to join as possible. While we are unable to offer a dedicated youth track this year, we believe almost any attendee — young or old — can benefit from these important discussions of science and faith.

Lunch

A lunch break of 1 hour will be provided and attendees must make their own arrangements for lunch. We will provide ample space for in-person attendees to enjoy their sack lunches in the Fellowship Hall. Alternatively, in-person attendees are welcome to purchase food at one of the many nearby restaurants.

Hotels

For those traveling from out-of-town, special rates are available at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Denton (here) and Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center (here).

Limited Capacity

If attending in-person, make sure to register today to secure your seat(s), as space is very limited this year.

Important information regarding COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be taking several precautions to protect our attendees, our volunteers, and our staff. Following current policies outlined by our hosts at Denton Bible Church (review here), by the Texas Department of State Health Services (here), and by the CDC (here), we will be practicing recommended procedures for increased sanitation, reduced capacity, prepackaged food and beverages, and more. In turn, we ask that attendees abide by the following policies:

  • Please wear a mask while entering and exiting the building, moving about the foyer, and until you are seated in the sanctuary.
  • To facilitate social distancing during check-in, please follow all signage to allow at least 6 feet of space between individuals or family units.
  • To facilitate social distancing in the sanctuary, we will skip every other row and ask that you leave three seats empty between each individual or family unit.
  • In addition to social distancing, we encourage you to practice good hygiene by using your elbow to cover your cough, avoiding touching your face, and washing your hands frequently.
  • While water fountains are available, we encourage you to bring your own water bottle or to take advantage of the water bottles provided free of charge for this event.
  • If you are 65 or above or have an underlying at-risk health condition, we encourage you to join us online via livestream.
  • If you are 65 or above, have an underlying at-risk health condition, or have other concerns related to COVID-19 and still choose to attend in-person, we encourage you to take advantage of a required-mask-section of seating reserved in the sanctuary for this purpose.
  • If you have had any symptoms of illness within the last 48 hours, have recently been exposed to someone who has tested positive for or was likely to have COVID-19, or for any other reason do not feel comfortable attending in-person, we hope that you will join us online via livestream.

By choosing to attend this event in-person, you will be asked to agree to abide by the above policies to the best of your ability and to recognize that any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to COVID-19. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed while in attendance at the event, and thus, you are attending at your own risk.
