About this event

The 2021 Contractor Training will focus on a Code Summary of the Minnesota State Building Code, and the MN State Energy Code.

E. Building Planning

a. Air barriers, Water Resistive Barriers

G. Remote Virtual Inspections for the contractor

a. Requirements and guidelines from ICC

H. Products new to the market. Required approval and uses

I. Uniformity Discussion- Statewide standard

Approved by Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry for 7 continuing education hours (including 1 hour of energy) for residential contractors, building officials and manufactured home installers.


Andy Schreder

Andy is a Certified Building Official & Certified CE Instructor. He is the Chief Building Official and Owner of Rum River Construction Consultants and acts as the designated Building Official for several jurisdictions, and in assisting additional municipalities. Andy has presented MN DLI approved Continuing Education classes for several years. Andy is an approved provider of educational services since 2009. Discussing not only what is required, but why. Conducting continuing education classes allows him to stay connected with licensed contractors hearing what areas of the code are challenging and helping make necessary clarifications of challenging provisions. Andy and his team have a reputation for accuracy and appreciate the opportunity to continue serving residents and contractors of Minnesota.

Who are 10,000 Lakes Chapter of ICC and AMBO?

10,000 Lakes is a local chapter of the International Code Council. AMBO is a statewide chapter of ICC representing building officials throughout the state.

10K and AMBO are non-profit organizations that are comprised of over 500 members that most likely include your local building inspector. Together, these chapters have strived to provide quality continuing education for building officials, contractors and anyone within the construction industry.
