2021 Child Abuse Prevention Conference
Event Information
About this Event
The 2021 Child Abuse Prevention Conference will be May 3, 8:45-3pm and May 4, 9-3pm. With much consideration for the safety of our community, this year’s conference will be delivered virtually through AirMeet but will still serve to facilitate opportunities for participants to network, share, and learn. The 2021 conference theme is “Cultivating Community”. Amid these uncertain and challenging times, we know it takes a concerted effort to build community connections that support families and build community resilience.
During this two day conference, over 30 national and state experts share the latest research and strategies professionals can use to improve their practices in providing resources and education to parents, increase their knowledge of emerging research in improving child development, and help to engage their communities in creating safer, nurturing environments for all children. Conference attendees are nurses, social workers, counselors, family therapists, parent educators, prevention educators, and in-home support workers representing agencies throughout Iowa and other states.
Prevent Child Abuse Iowa would like to thank our presenting sponsor: Iowa Maternal, Infant, Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, for their continued support of the Child Abuse Prevention Conference.
