Belleville Community Picnic - Chicken Dinner
About this event
The Belleville Community Picnic was born from an idea in 1952 to gather the citizens of this small village and celebrate our vibrant volunteer spirit with a large picnic. In 2021 we continue that tradition with the 70th annual Belleville Community Picnic.
This event is the main fundraiser for the Belleville Community Club. The Community Club's goal is to promote, aid, and encourage the civic, cultural, educational, and municipal interests of the Village of Belleville, Wisconsin. To achieve that purpose, through funds raised mainly at the annual Belleville Community Picnic, the Community Club contributes back to the community in many ways, including scholarships to graduating high school seniors, park improvements, holiday lights, spring and summer flowers along Main Street, sponsoring Boy and Girl Scout events, and many more.
This year, things are getting back to normal, and the Belleville Community Club is once again preparing to safely serve up this amazing Chicken Dinner that includes:
~ 1/2 Chicken ~
~ Baked Potato ~
~ Dressing ~
~ Coleslaw ~
~ Fresh Dinner Roll ~
~ Milk ~
This year the chicken dinners will be offered as a sit down meal at Sugar River Park and a carry-out option from Sugar River Park.

FAQ
Will tickets for the chicken dinner be available in Sugar River Park as in past years if I were to stand in line on Sunday August 8? We will have a very limited amount of tickets for sale at Sugar River Park on August 8. Because of the shortage of chicken this year, we are selling the chicken dinner tickets online once again to help us plan for an accurate number of dinners needed, and purchasing your chicken dinner online guarantees that you will get your yummy chicken dinner!
I want to purchase a dinner, but will not be able to pick it up in the typical 11am - 2pm time frame when the dinner line is typically going. Will my dinner still be there for me later in the day? No reason to fret! If you purchase your chicken dinner online, your dinner will be available for you until 6pm. Dinners will be available until ~2pm in the chicken dinner line, and afterwards at the food stand in Sugar River Park.
I really liked the drive-up option in 2020. Will that be available again this year? In 2021 there will not be a drive up option. We hope that you are able to come on down to Sugar River Park and join us for the live music and sit down to enjoy your meal with your friends and neighbors. A carry out option from Sugar River Park will be available as well.
Prices are higher than in past years; Why is that? There currently is a chicken shortage which has greatly affected the price this year. I'm sure you've noticed higher prices on all your items at the grocery store just like we have. To put it in perspective, a Double Quarter pounder meal at McDonalds is now over $10. We feel that you are getting a great meal for a very fair price (and you'll most likely have some leftovers to take home).
After I have purchased my chicken dinner tickets, do I have to print tickets or can we just show our purchased tickets off the phone? We will be able to scan tickets either from paper copies or from your phone. You can provide what is easiest for you.
How will we pick up our dinners on Sunday, August 8? We are back to our normal chicken dinner line at BCP which will start near the shelter in Sugar River Park. You will be able to sit in the shelter or under the big top tent (and listen to some great music), or you can carry your meals out.
