Get the latest information, resources, and tools on stormwater pond management for the Lowcountry community!

About this event

The 2021 Beaufort Area Stormwater Pond Management Conference will provide a forum to give the latest information, resources, and tools on stormwater pond management for the Lowcountry community. Pond owners, HOA representatives, and pond management professionals are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Conference topics include:

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Stormwater pond research
  • Integrated pest management
  • Dredging
  • Resiliency
  • Aeration
  • Buffers and erosion control
  • Integrated weed management
  • Hands-on problem solving and more

Conference attendees will receive:

  • Presentations and advice from local experts in pond management
  • A resource packet with information and reference materials
  • Continuing Education Credits for SC Pesticide Applicators*, Certified Floodplain Manager*, and members of the SC Planning Education Advisory Committee* and American Planning Association* (*Pending approval)

The conference will use a hybrid model. There will be two days of online presentations and an optional 3-hour, in-person field day.

Virtual content will be divided into four 90-minute sessions over two days. Each day will have a morning webinar session and an afternoon webinar session. Each session will be unique and recorded for later viewing.

The in-person field day is a three-hour experience at Crystal Lake Park, located at 124 Ladys Island Dr, Beaufort, SC 29907. The field day is optional. There will be a morning session (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM) and an afternoon session (1:00 PM - 3:00 PM) available. Each session is only available to 15 people for an additional fee. To register for the field day, you need to sign up for the virtual content.
