About this Event

The 2020 Healthcare Coalition Emergency Management Webinar Series: WRHEPC Pediatric Emergency Preparedness Seminar will provide a broad overview of potential care needs for the pediatric patient involved in an emergency/disaster situation. The webinar series will include information for medical, trauma and crisis response specific to the most vulnerable population in any emergency event, children.

Webinar Series Objectives:

  • Develop improved healthcare outcomes of our pediatric population by increasing quality of care through pediatric focused education for our community healthcare partners
  • Identify sentinel injuries and early recognition of child abuse
  • Apply the knowledge gained in airway management during pediatric respiratory emergencies, initial burn treatment, sepsis and mental health

This virtual Pediatric Emergency Preparedness series consists of 6 live webinar sessions. Attendees can select to attend one or multiple sessions.

A Certificate of Attendance for each session will be available to all attendees that complete a post-session evaluation.

Regional Training Center (RTC) Grant funds are available to cover the cost of CME for appropriate Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Coalition (HEPC) attendees that work in the Western, Central New York, Capital District and Metropolitan Area Regions of NYS (excluding NYC). We ask that you only request CME if your NYS Licensed Profession or NYS BEMS requires continuing medical education for license/certification renewal. This may include physicians, mid-level providers, EMTs and paramedics.

ACCREDITATION: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and John R.
