DONATION TO THE VVBGA RESEARCH AND EDUCATION FUND

Every year, the VVBGA board of directors provides funding to projects and programs that address the needs of commercial growers in Vermont and the region. Your contributions to this effort are greatly appreciated.

COMMUNITY ACCREDITATION FOR PRODUCE SAFETY (CAPS)

VVBGA members have the option of participating in CAPS, an on-line program that helps growers write and then document the implementation of a farm food safety plan. Plans and documents are reviewed and feedback provided. Once completed, farms earn CAPS accreditation, including an e-badge. CAPS-PLUS is also available, which adds an on-farm audit. CAPS-PLUS is accepted by many major retailers as a substitute for USDA-GAPS audits. CAPS participation is voluntary, the is $100 per farm, registration is due by April 1, 2020.

The mission of the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers Association (VVBGA) is to promote the economic, environmental and social sustainability of vegetable and berry farming in Vermont through education, promotion and communication among growers.
