Event description
Join Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit and Climate Coalition for an event aiming to bring together a diverse range of voices

About this Event

Since the signing of the Paris Agreement almost 5 years ago, climate change has steadily risen up the public and political agenda. Visible impacts such as the hottest summers on record, flooding and snap frosts, alongside pivotal voices such as Greta Thunberg and David Attenborough have accelerated climate conversations considerably over 2019 alone. In just under a year, ministers, heads of state, UN bodies and global government agencies will come together for the Olympics of climate change, right here in the UK. The summit is the most crucial since the Paris Agreement was signed in 2015, requiring governments world wide to maximise ambition and set the groundwork for the next 5 years of climate action.

But it’s not just global governments that have a pivotal role in determining whether the summit is a success or not. For big change, we need everyone. From practical changes within your own industry and communicating to your audiences about climate change, to using the weight of your voice to set the scene for the negotiations and influence real systems change; the summit is for us. We have a role in laying the boundaries for what counts as success, and showcasing that climate action is already baked into the way we live.

From talks about climate science and the practicalities of how the UN Climate Summit works, to interactive discussion sessions that aim to help you review and plan your sectors role in the climate conversation over the next year.
