About this Event

Clarity Through Collaboration

#TVMC2020Vision

Seeking new and innovative ways to engage your volunteers? Looking to expand your own knowledge or boost professional growth? Whether your vision for professional development is personal, professional or both, you’ll find opportunities to build clarity and collaboration at the 2020 Texas Volunteer Management Conference.

The Texas Volunteer Management Conference is the leading educational event for current and emerging volunteer management professionals in Texas and neighboring states. #TVMC2020Vision offers the opportunity to learn from top level speakers, trainers and leaders who provide relevant, practical workshops designed for volunteer managers and administrators working in all sectors. This year's conference is hosted by the Dallas Association of Directors of Volunteers (DADV), the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA) Tarrant County, and VolunteerNow. For more information, including full schedule, directions and conference hotel, please visit www.texasvmc.org.

Join us for one-and-a-half days of thought-provoking and interactive workshops geared to inspire you to build a visionary volunteer program and increase volunteer impact within your organization! This year’s conference will be held May 14-15, 2020 at The Gateway Center at the University of North Texas in Denton and we expect 250-300 attendees.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The majority of conference attendees are professional volunteer administrators who work for nonprofit organizations or publicly funded agencies such as government entities, municipalities, libraries, churches, parks and recreation centers, museums and schools. The conference also welcomes anyone in the private sector responsible for working with volunteers including hospitals and hospices, program managers, executive directors, development and communications team members as well as staff in community relations and corporate social responsibility.

REGISTRATION

Conference registration includes workshops and activities on both Thursday and Friday. The conference begins Thursday afternoon with a plenary session unveiling findings from UNT's research on volunteerism followed by your choice of five breakout sessions and culminating with a Thursday evening networking event and an opportunity to join other attendees for dinner on-your-own in one of Denton's fine restaurants. The conference format on Friday includes an opening plenary peer learning session, lunch and two breakout sessions times with 5 options each. You can choose workshops from each breakout session based upon your individual needs for professional development.

NEW FOR 2020: PRE-CONFERENCE BOOT CAMP

For the first time, TVMC will be offering a Thursday morning pre-conference boot camp as an additional training workshop that can be added to your conference registration. Essential Strategies of Volunteer Engagement is a 2 1/2 hour interactive workshop that explores key components of a quality volunteer program. You will evaluate your organization's framework for successful volunteer engagement, identify current strengths and opportunities via a benchmarking assessment tool, then prioritize and set next steps to increase volunteer recruitment, retention and impact. A $125 value, this workshop is available to TVMC 2020 attendees for only $35.00 and will include lunch on Thursday prior to the Conference kick off.
