Description

Calling all Cooks!

The City of Roswell invites you to participate in Southern Soul Fixins, a Soul Food Cook-Off event for Roswell Roots: A Festival of Black History and Culture. This is a family-friendly event.

Guests are invited to taste various soul foods and vote for their favorite entry. Each participant may register once.

Competitor categories include professional and amateur. First and second place will be awarded in each category as chosen by a panel of judges. A People’s Choice Award in each category will be given to the participant with the most votes from guests.

We ask that each participant prepares bite sized portions for 200 people. We will be offering serving dishes with sterno cans to keep food heated, and will provide sample cups for the portions.

For local restaurants, we invite you to participate in our "Roswell Roots Signature Dish" opportunity. Create a signature dish to promote during the month of February in celebration of National Black History Month. All participating dishes must be a traditional or a twist of a southern or soul food dish.

If you have any questions, please contact Corinne Sutherlin at 770-594-6199 or csutherlin@roswellgov.com.
