2020 Rooster Tail Ride - Donation in Lieu of Official Ride
Event Information
About this Event
Due to COVID-19, we unfortunately have decided that it is the best decision to cancel the ride this year. We know that many have had this on their calendar, and if you would like to ride independently, the trail is still open! There will also be live music at the Depot Deli in Shenandoah Saturday Night, with plenty of room under the big top! Please just try to maintain safe distancing from others, respect local businesses' decisions on hours and services, and of course have fun! We will try to compile a list of establishments that will be serving food and drink that weekend, and would encourage you to still make a donation to the trail (and have set up a registration option that allows you to do just that), as this has been a big fundraiser for us the past few years and has significantly helped with ongoing maintenance of the trail.
*** Some History - please note that there will only be music in Shenandoah and some establishments along the way have limited hours/services. Luggage transportation and SAG is not available this year.*** Started by the Wabash Trace in 2017, the Rooster Tail Ride is a mobile music festival made possible with the support of towns and businesses along the way. Typically, this ride is 35 miles each way, beginning in Mineola on Saturday morning (or Friday night, if you care to join in the pre-party & camping!) with live music stops in Silver City, Malvern, Imogene, and then reaching Shenandoah for the grand finale and camping! This is a fundraiser for maintenance of the beautiful Wabash Trace Nature Trail, organized by the SWINT (Southwest Iowa Nature Trails) Board, and supported by the local businesses along the way. So please, register, ride, and patronize the establishments ;) And have fun! Questions? call 515-210-0269
