2020 Rhode Island Women in Agriculture Conference
Event Information
About this Event
This biennial one-day conference is an educational event designed to share the numerous opportunities available to women currently in farming and to women considering farming as a career. Our goal is to ensure that the next generation of women is educated, encouraged and empowered to take on the challenges of meeting the world's growing food, fuel and fiber needs.
The conference not only provides a fabulous opportunity for networking with agricultural providers and producers in the tri-state area, but will also feature THREE inspiring speakers. Come and hear Rhode Island's own Jayne Merner Senecal, ouvrier agricole at Earth Care Farm and Owner-Operator of Golden Root Gardening; Amberley Snyder, author of Walk, Ride, Rodeo, whose story was told in the Netflix movie of the same name; and self- described Sales and Marketing Nerd Casey Conrad. The day also includes hands-on learning sessions, instructional classes, informative workshops and grant & financing opportunities. Continental breakfast and lunch is included in the registration fee. There will be a special prize drawing for all who bring a non-perishable or canned good to benefit the Rhode Island Food Bank.
