The 2020 Quadrennial International Reading Symposium is scheduled to take place Saturday May 23rd 2020.
A surge of interest has surrounded the subject of Reading &Literacy for the past six months in the Media, attracting a host of Community Leaders and Celebrity support.

QIRS will see seven panel members present Academic Papers and present tangible research, shining a spotlight on Reading and Literacy in the UK for non-traditional audiences.

Ms Hart is currently the CEO, and Director of HART CULTURE C.I.C. Hart runs the 'Bereavement Through Arts Summer Programmer' at The Drop In Bereavement Centre (Newham), President of The London Camera Clubs Network, Artistic Practitioner, Academic, Journalist and Editor of SPARK Arts & Culture. Ms Hart has been at the centre of driving Excellence in the Arts Through Local Communities since 2004 and Chairs the Quadrennial International Reading Symposium.

is an award-winning editor, publisher and a former Commonwealth Press Fellow of Cambridge, holder of an MBA in Marketing Managementand a PhD in Business Management. Dr. Johnson has written on subjects including politics, economics, business enterprise, civic affairs and an authorised biography of Britain’s first Caribbean-born Mayor, Randolph Beresford MBE.


Nardia Foster, Chartered Psychologist; AFBPsS, MA; BSc

Ms Foster was born in the UK, of Jamaican Caribbean Parents. Foster is an experience. Teacher with considerable experience, and will lead the discussion on ‘why Knowledge is power’. Foster is also the Author of History Book - ‘Out of Slavery’, which follows the psychological, cultural, socio-economic narrative and impact of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade; spanning over two centuries to this present day.

Social Enterprise Pesonality: Founder/Chairman of Imhotep Foundation Ltd, a Care experienced led organisation who challenges steretyopes & motivates to achieve through holistic approach orientated projects. Founder/Director of A*- unltd (astar-unltd) which are publishers and license holders of the ‘Awareness & Empowerment’ workshop. Yanik is the Author and Lead Trainer of the ‘Awareness & Empowerment’ toolkit and workshop. Also, Trainer for Barnardos babyfather Initiative, Children Rights Officers & Advocacy (CROA) and A National Voice. Yanik is a Consultant for the BME ‘Steering Group’ for Care Leavers Association.

Andrea Campbell, MBA MA (Hons) MITI 

'Laying the Foundations: Reading - a key cornerstone'

Andrea Campbell is a Jamaican linguist and the Author of a number of books including ‘Jamaican Proverbs, People and Places’. Cambpell will be presenting a discussion on the importance of Reading from an early age to lead into the Symposium. Cambpell is a Founder and Director of Award winning Training & Educational Organisation - ACT Training Services (Based in Dalston). Campbell will be Co-hosting the ’50 Most Outstanding Jamaican Women’ May 23rd 2012 as part of celebrating the Cultural Olympiad Year & Jamaica @ 50.
