Description

Do you enjoy learning about Pasadena’s history and architecture? If so, Pasadena Heritage needs you to share your passion for history, preservation and architecture! Please join us on Saturday, January 25th at the Pasadena Heritage office, the Madison House, for Docent Training Orientation.

What is Docent Training? It will focus on Pasadena’s early history, Pasadena Heritage’s role in the community, as well as the architectural development of Pasadena. You will also learn some general docent guidelines and strategies. Training will include PowerPoint presentations, discussions with experienced docents, walking tours of Old Pasadena and other historic neighborhoods, and home tours.

When is Docent Training? Docent training will begin on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00 AM to noon and will continue to meet monthly throughout the year, typically on Saturdays or Sundays. Future dates will be discussed at the initial orientation.

Who should take Docent Training? We are looking for outgoing people to represent Pasadena Heritage and would like to learn more about Pasadena. Whether you are interested in being a docent for walking tours, bus tours, or house tours, this training will be extremely beneficial!

Join us on January 25th for a free orientation. If you wish to continue the docent training program, there will be a small fee to cover materials.

For more information please contact Patty Judy, Education Director, at pjudy@pasadenaheritage.org or 626-441-6333 x.18.
