Event description

Description

The Associates Program offers rising federal leaders in Oregon and SW Washington a unique opportunity for professional development within a group of motivated federal peers who care deeply about the impact of public service. The FEB partners with exceptional federal leaders at the SES-level as well as Portland Community College’s respected CLIMB Center for Advancement to deliver a rigorous academic and hands-on program aligned with Office of Personnel Management’s Executive Core Qualifications. In addition to the core competency focus, the program offers executive shadows, inspiring speaker panels, and a collaborative team project that will have a lasting impact on the local federal community.

The inter-agency context and focus on challenges affecting the wider federal workforce ensure this opportunity is ideal for employees who aspire to leadership in areas requiring collaborative work across organizations and agencies, and serves as a complement to agencies’ own internally-focused leadership development opportunities.

Tuition and Time Commitment: The Associates Program is a one-year leadership development program with a tuition cost of $2,700, payable in full for each admitted participant by December 31, 2019. Tuition payments may be made through: . If your agency would like to pay in advance, before final participant selections are made, you may submit a payment, and we will refund you the tuition if your nominee is not selected for the program. Upon acceptance in the program, a link to a secure online payment form will be sent to the applicant's supervisor. During the course of the program, participants will continue in their present job positions and perform their normal duties. The program will involve a minimum of 2 days per month of employee’s time away from the office and additional time for team and mentor collaboration. Program participants are expected to attend all monthly 1-day group training sessions and fully participate in program activities. Upon graduation, program participants are expected to assist in the FY 2021 Associates Program delivery to the next cohort of Associates. If more than 2 of the 11 monthly core competency training sessions are missed, the candidate will be dropped from the program without tuition refund. See the Associates Program Guidebook on the Oregon FEB website for more details.
