Event description

Description

What positive outcomes do Family Resource Centers (FRCs) achieve for children and families and how can they continue to be scaled nationwide?

How can Networks of FRCs be effective vehicles for supporting the advancement of our nation's families?

How can your work connect with, leverage, and support the development of FRCs and Networks of them?

Join the National Family Support Network and colleagues from across the country working at the systems and policy levels for this unique opportunity to learn about and connect with Family Resource Centers and Family Support and Strengthening Networks nationwide - all in one place.

Meet the leaders of Networks in 30 states and the District of Columbia that are comprised of more than 3,000 Family Resource Centers working in a multi-generational, strengths-based, family-centered approach with more than 2 million people annually across the great geographical and demographic diversity of the United States.

Described as "America’s best kept secret," Family Resource Centers are community or school-based welcoming hubs of support, services, and opportunities designed to support families to be strong and successful. These highly-adaptable, cost-effective programs have demonstrated success with enhancing parenting skills, fostering the healthy development and well-being of children, youth, and families, preventing child abuse, increasing school readiness, connecting families to resources, developing parent and community leadership, engaging males and fathers, supporting healthy marital and couples relationships, and promoting family economic success.

The Forum will build on the Advancing the Family Support and Strengthening Field Project and focus attention on the steps needed to support families to thrive in every state through the development of strong and effective Networks of Family Resource Centers.

Who Should Participate?

Key stakeholders working at the systems and policy levels such as national, state, and local policymakers, public departments, Children's Trust Fund staff, private funders, and national nonprofit organizations (up to 4 participants per organization). Space is limited and advance registration is required.
