About this Event

The 2020 NAMI Minnesota State Conference: Mental Health in Challenging Times will be held Saturday, Nov. 14. Keynote speakers include Patrice Harris, MD; Tom Insel, MD; and Susan Bartlett Foote, JD, MA. The conference is sponsored in part by Johnson & Johnson, People Incorporated, Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc, Northwood Children's Services, Integrity Living Options Inc, Radias Health, Prairie Care, and Lou & Allan Burdick.

Zoom: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's event will be held digitally via zoom. Prior to the conference, all registrants will be sent a PDF of zoom links to join the keynotes and breakout sessions. All attendees will be able to 'choose their own adventure' throughout the day by selecting the breakout session they want and join by zoom.

Breakouts: This year's conference will feature 9 breakout sessions, with sessions of interest for professionals, individuals living with mental illnesses, family members, advocates, and students. The annual awards and annual meeting will take place between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.

CEUs: The 2020 NAMI Minnesota State Conference has been approved for 4.5 CEU hours for social workers by the Minnesota Board of Social Work and is pending approval for LPCs, LPCCs, and LADCs by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy; LMFTs by the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. This event has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing's continuing education requirements as well as the DHS continuing education requirements for Certified Peer Specialists. is the individual licensee's responsibility to ensure that this event meets their continuing education requirements.

Cost: Registration is $40 for a CEU ticket, $20 for a non-member General Admission ticket, or $10 for a member General Admission ticket. In order to receive a CEU certificate after the conference, you must purchase the CEU ticket, but you do not need to purchase any other ticket. Cancellation Policy: We understand that unforeseen situations arise and you may need to cancel your registration. If you are unable to attend, a substitute individual is welcome to attend in your place but NAMI Minnesota must be notified in writing (email is acceptable) with the name and contact information for the person who will be attending. Refunds for paid events are issued per the following:

  • A full refund of 100% will be issued if you cancel more than 14 calendar days prior to the start date.
  • A partial refund of 50% will be issued if you cancel 7-14 calendar days prior to the start date.
  • No refund or credit will be given if you cancel less than 7 calendar days prior to the start date.

NAMI Minnesota reserves the right to cancel any event, conference, or class due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. If there is a cancellation, participants will be notified by telephone and/or email as soon as possible. NAMI Minnesota will make reasonable efforts to reschedule.

Photo Permission Policy: Professional photographs and/or videoing may occur at an event, conference, or class. Your image may be used in NAMI Minnesota printed and electronic publications for promotional and educational purposes, and may be made available to the media and other third parties, or published on the internet.
