Event description
Dr. Maryanne Wolf presents "The Deep Reading Brain in a Digital World"

About this Event

Dr. Wolf is an internationally recognized scholar, author and literacy advocate whose latest book considers today to be a "hinge moment" as we explore the future of deep reading while we depend ever more on digital media.

Dr. Maryanne Wolf and other researchers have determined how we can end our country’s illiteracy epidemic and construct each child’s reading brain. They have also offered a caution: With our children so immersed in our now digital world, will learning to read be even more difficult? Are our most vulnerable children and all of our children being put at further risk?

Dr. Maryanne Wolf is the Director of UCLA’s Center for Dyslexia, Diverse Learners and Social Justice and former Director of the Tufts Center for Reading and Language Research.

Leading up to that event, we are hosting a virtual book study on our Cox Campus, exploring her latest book, Reader, Come Home: The Reading Brain in a Digital World.
